David J. Bonaparte

Since 1997, David J. Bonaparte has become a major advocate of issues and events affecting the jewelry industry. Prior to his appointment as Jewelers of America's President & CEO in 2012, he served as Senior Vice President for the JCK portfolio of products and was the Global leader for the jewelry portfolio at Reed Exhibitions worldwide. Under his direction, the company established JCK as the brand leader for events, magazines and web products serving the jewelry industry.

Over the last 16 years, Bonaparte was instrumental in helping to develop The JCK Industry Fund, which provides $400,000 annually to individuals, groups and associations that establish programs to benefit and promote the jewelry industry. Through this work, Bonaparte gained a unique awareness of the industry’s needs, and he helped facilitate grants for more than $5 million to organizations across the jewelry industry that address these needs.

In his previous role, Bonaparte worked closely with Jewelers of America, regional jewelry associations and retail organizations in a combined effort to develop programs designed to build membership.

Bonaparte is actively involved in many jewelry industry organizations and serves on the Board of Directors of The Jewelers Security Alliance, the American Gem Society, and Jewelers for Children for which he actively fundraises. He is also a member of the 24 Karat Club of New York and Southern California.
